We are pleased to announce Gina Marsh was promoted to the position of Director of University of Illinois Tax school, effective September 1, 2021. As Director of the Tax School program, Gina will ensure that adult learning and continuing education standards are upheld and will provide leadership for the overall strategic direction of the program. Working with a team of seven internal staff members and more than 25 external stakeholders, Gina will be responsible for the continued success and growth of the program.

Gina first joined Tax School in 2014 as the Engagement and Logistics Specialist, and was promoted in 2016 to Assistant Director, Marketing & Logistics. During her tenure at Tax School, she has worked closely with leadership on strategy and long-term planning of the program, developing virtual delivery methods for educational seminars, and event promotion and marketing.

“It’s an honor to continue the 80+ year tradition of providing high-quality continuing education to tax preparers throughout Illinois and the country,” says Gina. “I’ve spent the last seven years working to promote this program that I believe is the best of its kind and I look forward to serving our customers, staff, and the University further in the director role.”

Recently retired Director of University of Illinois Tax School, Terri Kobel, commented, “Gina’s strong organizational skills, deep knowledge of how to get things done, her marketing talent, her foundational continuing education philosophy, and her ability to form effective relationships with all stakeholders will serve the Tax School well through the years.”

Gina has a bachelor’s degree in Communication from Truman State University and a master’s degree in Education Policy, Organization & Leadership from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She serves on the local Make-a-Wish Illinois Regional Council and resides in rural Champaign County, IL with her husband, Aaron, and their honeybee hives.
