Instructor Auditions
The University of Illinois Tax School is looking for experienced tax professionals interested in contributing to our education programs as future instructors. If you have a strong technical background and enjoy presenting to practitioner audiences, we invite you to participate in our upcoming instructor audition.

Audition Details
- Date: Thursday, May 28, 2026
- Format: Virtual presentation
Who Should Consider Auditioning
Professionals who meet the following criteria:
- CPA, EA, JD, or IRS revenue agent
- At least five years of experience preparing tax returns for others or auditing returns for the IRS
- Prior public‑speaking experience to audiences of tax preparers (preferred, but not required)
What You’ll Need to Prepare
- A 15‑minute lecture on a tax‑related topic suitable for a professional audience
- A PowerPoint presentation to accompany your lecture (we’ll provide a template)
How to Participate
Submit a letter of interest and a current resume by May 13, 2026 to Gina Marsh at grmarsh@illinois.edu. We’ll get back to you ASAP to coordinate a time slot, provide a PowerPoint template, and answer any questions you may have.
