Don't worry, we'll still have the live, in-person seminars throughout the state of Illinois, too! We just know that some tax professionals prefer not to leave their office to obtain their annual CPE, and these webinars offer that convenience.

Fall Webinar FAQ

What topics will the webinars cover?

Webinar topics will include all of the same topics taught at 2017 Fall Tax School. Below is a list of topics that will be covered in webinar format:

  • Beneficiary & Estate Issues
  • Employment Issues
  • Individual Taxpayer Issues
  • Installment Sales
  • Investments
  • Federal Tax Update (IRS Update/New Developments/Rulings & Cases)

  • Putting Ethics into Practice
  • Small Business Issues

Exact webinar topics will be released by mid-September 2017.

When will the webinars be offered?

Each topic covered at Fall Tax School will be taught twice via webinar: once in December 2017 and once in January 2018. Exact dates and times are posted above.

How many CPE credits will each webinar be worth?

Each webinar will award between 1-3 hours of CPE depending upon the topic. The webinars qualify for IRS credit, MCLE credit, CFP credit, and NASBA credit. No half credits will be awarded for IRS purposes. Illinois insurance credit will not be offered for these webinars.

Who will be teaching these webinars?

Each webinar will be presented by one of our regular Fall Tax School instructors. The instructor for each topic will be announced when registration opens.

How much will the webinars cost?

Webinars will cost approximately $25 per credit hour.

Will I still get the Federal Tax Workbook?

Each webinar will include a PDF version of the accompanying chapter from the 2017 Federal Tax Workbook. Printed workbook chapters will not be provided.

Why should I attend a webinar instead of a Fall Tax School live location?

That's completely up to you! We know a lot of people still prefer to learn in a live, in-person environment, and we have 27 locations across the state of Illinois at which you can attend Fall Tax School in person.

The benefits of the webinar option include:

  • Convenience. No travel required! Take the webinars from the comfort of your own computer.
  • Flexibility. You will have two date/time options for each topic.
  • Choice. You can pick and choose which topics interest you most and just purchase those webinars.
  • Available nationwide. Simple geography means that most attendees of our live Fall Tax School seminars live in or close to Illinois. These webinars allow people nationwide to learn valuable federal tax information and earn CPE credit, all taught at the high standards of the University of Illinois Tax School.

Can I tell my tax preparer friend in another state about these webinars?

Absolutely! These webinars will be open nationwide, so be sure to let your colleague/friend/old college roommate know about them.

Can I earn referral rewards by referring a colleague who registers for one of these webinars?

No. Referrals for these webinars are not eligible to earn Referral Rewards.
